Bombardier’s Global 7000 and Global 8000 video
Posted on: November 18, 2010No comments yet
Bombardier Aerospace reaffirmed its influence on the large business jet category by introducing two new jets, the Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft. These large cabin aircraft will feature GE’s new emission cutting TechX engine.

The Canadian company’s flagship Global aircraft family covers the large, ultra-long-range category with
four aircraft models, the Global 5000, Global Express XRS, Global 7000 and 8000 jets. The Global 7000
will have a 7,300 nm range, while the Global 8000 will be able to fly a globe-girdling 7,900 nm.
“Bombardier’s commitment to innovation, ongoing investment in product development strategy and
strength as the industry leader are key contributors to our overall success,” said Steve Ridolfi, president,
Bombardier Business Aircraft. “By extending this great aircraft family, we are once again offering a business jet travel experience that is unmatched and ahead of its time.”
Bombardier first introduced the Global Express in 1996, starting what is now a family of ultra-long-range aircraft. Bombardier’s new Global 7000 and 8000 will feature an all-new high-speed transonic wing, designed
to significantly optimize aerodynamic efficiency.
The GE TechX engine on the Global 7000 and 8000 will offer improved efficiency, including reduced NOX emissions that are 50 percent below ICAO’s upcoming Civil Aircraft Emissions Protocol (CAEP-6) regulations and 8-percent better fuel efficiency overall when compared to the Global Express XRS.
“The Global 7000 and Global 8000 jets will give our customers the ability to reach more destinations
non-stop than ever before,” said Ridolfi.
Featuring a high-speed cruise of M 0.90, the aircraft are designed to be able to connect to more key
cities non-stop around the world through a combination of range, fuel efficiency and balanced field length.
Global 7000 and 8000 will also feature spacious cabins, including enlarged windows and an innovative
approach to cabin zones, which increases customer’s flexibility and choice when defining their floor plan.
Bombardier to launch the worlds most expensive business Jets
Posted on: November 3, 2010No comments yet
We hear that Bombardier is aiming to take Gulfstream’s place as king of the skies as the worlds most expensive business jet. They are set to launch two new models. The Global 7000 and 8000, which will cost around $65 million apiece, will beat the high-speed range of the $58.5 million Gulfstream G650.
They are going to have to make a song called “Like a Global 8″ in replace of ‘Like a G6 from Far east movement lol. Both new private jets will have a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90; the 7000 will have a range of 7,300 nmi at Mach 0.85, while the 8000′s range will top out at 7,900 nmi at Mach 0.85. Both will borrow elements from the existing Global Express XRS and 5000.
Besides being the world’s most expensive private jets, these fuel efficient models will also steal some other titles. The 7000 is all set to have the largest cabin in business aviation while the 8,000 will brag of the longest range.
The new models with luxury fittings and amenities are designed to cater to the high flyer’s in India, Asia and UAE. The 7000 has a capacity to hold 10 passengers while the 8000 can accommodate 8 passengers. However, Gulfstream need not burst into a sweat yet as the first of these models is expected to be ready for delivery only by 2016.
A project in Miami that could rival the Burj KhaliFa called the Miapolis
Posted on: January 21, 2010No comments yet
Yes you are reading this correctly, just a few weeks after the showing of the Burj Khalifa we hear that its already facing competition. Plans for a new superscraper in our own backyard of Miami could win the title of the worlds tallest building. Forget about the Burj Khalifa??? WOW i would love to see this happen!
According to Miami herald, Kobi Karp has submitted designs for Miapolis, a ‘city within a city’ planned for Watson Island. If built, the 160 storey building will be 183 meters higher than the Burj Khalifa. What is more, the Miapolis will boasts of an amusement park, observatory, restaurants, 1.96 million sq ft of shops, over 1000 apartments, 1 million sq ft office space and a 792 room hotel.
Besides being a rival to the Burj Khalifa, the new building if built will function as an economic engine creating 5,000 permanent jobs, paying off $39 million debt owed to the City and injecting $2.5 billion annually into the local economy.
The project is currently looking for funding from investors. With Miami’s current financial woes including a reported 100,000 plus properties in foreclosure, wonder if this project is the right defense to promote economic growth.

Burj Dubai the worlds tallest building set to open today
Posted on: January 4, 2010No comments yet
The Burj Dubai was started at the height of the economic boom and built buy at least 12,000 laborers. The Burj Dubai is set to open today as the worlds tallest building and will set records as so. The Burj is expected to rekindle optimism after its financial crisis.
Burj Dubai, whose opening has been delayed twice since construction began in 2004, will mark another milestone for the deeply indebted emirate with a penchant for seeking new records.
Dubai, one of seven members of the United Arab Emirates, gained a reputation for excess with the creation of man-made islands shaped like palms and an indoor ski slope in the desert.
The tower’s height has been kept a closely guarded secret until now. Developer Emaar Properties PJSC will reveal the height — known to exceed 800 meters (2,625 feet) — on Tuesday and Dubai’s ruler will inaugurate the opening. Emaar, the Burj’s developer, has said the entire Downtown Burj Dubai development, which includes the tower, will cost $US20 billion to build. What is more, it was reported that at their peak, some apartments in the Burj were selling for more than $US 1,900 per square foot, though they now can go for less than half that. And if developers are to be believed, the entire building is already sold out.

The hotel has a vehicle to run on a passing bridge to commute between the two hotel winds even when the F1 races are on.
The Hotel is sited on land and water celebrating both the raceway circuit as well as the Yas Marina. The Yas Hotel will be a key feature of the upcoming grand finale to the Formula One circuit for 2009 on November 1 and seen by over 600 million viewers world wide during the race day coverage.

The Yas Hotel, Abu Dhabi
Posted on: November 14, 2009No comments yet
Based in New York Asymptote Architecture is nearing completion of their yas hotel project,
in Abu Dhabi, UAE. the Yas Hotel is a 500-room, 85,000-square-meter complex which is
was due to open on october 30, 2009 to coincide with the formula 1 Etihad airways,
Abu Dhabi grand prix.
the Yas Hotel is part of the ambitious 36-billion-dollar yas marina development
and accompanying formula 1 raceway circuit, which is also near completion.
the main feature of the project’s design is a 217-meter expanse of sweeping, curvilinear
forms constructed of steel and 5,800 pivoting diamond-shaped glass panels. this grid
shell component affords the building an architecture comprised of an atmospheric
like veil that contains two hotel towers and a link bridge constructed as a monocoque
sculpted steel object passing above the formula 1 track that makes its way through
the building complex. the grid-shell visually connects and fuses the entire complex
together while producing optical effects and spectral reflections that play against the
surrounding sky, sea and desert landscape. the architecture as a whole ‘performs’ as
both an environmentally responsive solution as well as an architecture of spectacle
and event.

Mercedes-Benz Folding Bike
Posted on: November 7, 2009No comments yet
Compact, lightweight, and stylish, the Mercedes-Benz folding bike offers a high-end option when high class must meet high functionality. The convenient framework allows the bike to be broken down with two simple folds, taking only a few seconds. Additionally, the bike seat can effortlessly fold down onto the frame, making it easier to roll through cramped environments. Understand, though, that this is no kid’s bike. Rugged, Continental tires, an 8-speed shift, luggage rack, a set of disc brakes, bolt lock, and protective covering make this $2,400.00 bike worth every penny.
Mercedes-Benz pushbikes are always special but the latest collection, released this week, includes a very clever Foldingbike with two different folded positions. Fully folded, it’s a very small package, while the “shuttle” position allows the bike to be pushed and steered – ideal for easy carriage using public transport.
When completely folded down, the Mercedes-Benz Folding bike requires little space. In this position, it only measures 80x80x35 cm, enabling it to be packed away in the supplied high-quality carrying bag. Accordingly, the bike can be easily stowed in a car trunk, camper van, office or yacht. Essentially, it’s as good as a constant companion – it can go wherever you go.
The patented folding mechanism is particularly easy to operate – folding and unfolding the bike takes only a few seconds, and no tools are required.
The aluminum frame has a suspension travel of 40 mm at both front and rear, and this is adjustable for individual riding comfort. A Shimano 8-speed dérailleur gear makes for relaxed cycling, while disc brakes ensure a high level of safety. A side stand, protective metal cover and a variable luggage rack make this extraordinary bike ideal for day-to-day use. The new Mercedes-Benz Folding bike comes in silver or white, and costs EUR1700.

Im not sure if Abu Dhabi is a little Envious of Dubai. I think they are tired of Dubai always stealing the limelight as the star of the United Arab Emirates, but that may change. Abu Dhabi is constructing a F1 spec race track and a Ferrari-based theme park set to open in 2010.
This park will feature an iconic red roof thats supposed to be directly inspired by the classic double curve side profile of the Ferrari GT body, spanning 2,152,782 square feet and carrying the largest Ferrari logo ever created.
The theme park would include amazing rides, a roller-coaster which is being touted as the world’s fastest and also a simulated F1 car ride.
Great, now Lamborghini is going to have something to be Envious about!!
